What happens at a surgery appointment
Ingrown toenail surgery is a single 60-minute visit: consultation, local anaesthetic, and the procedure itself, done in one sitting. The problematic nail edge is removed and the nail matrix treated with phenol so the problem doesn't come back. You walk out immediately afterwards — your toe stays numb for 2–4 hours, and most patients are back at desk work within 24–48 hours.
